Mission Penguin

I was looking for a replacement to BBClone touted as "A PHP based Web Counter on Steroids." We've been using BBClone for about 18 months now, and it's worked very well for our small corporate website.

It does your basic reporting, it shows basic client information including IP address, (resolved to a hostname) country of origin, Operating System, Browser, and on and on. Yawn.

I never thought I'd utter those words, but I'll be throwing Ubuntu on a machine intended for Grandma in the next week or so.Not my grandma, but a Grandma nonetheless.  I'll throw a brief article up describing the hardware, previous OS, motivations to upgrade, and her learning curve.I won't spend too much

I'm looking forward to picking up right where ver 0.9 left off.

I've made progress on the Auto PC, including wiring details for the Sony controller interface and the 12volt car friendly PSU.  I've also been tweaking on the Arcade machine some of you are familiar with and of course I will soon be swapping my current MythTV solution with a more comprehensive LinuxMCE solution.

With Krondors blessing I hope to post details about all of those projects and more.  I'll keep an eye out for further restores of Mission Penguin content.
