I can't believe it is that time already. Ohio LinuxFest 2007, in Columbus Ohio (obviously), begins Saturday September 29th, 2007. I'll definitely be in attendance. It should be a fun time for those who can make it. I've looked through the speakers, and I must say that several talks sound interesting. Last year was great. I met interesting people, learned interesting stuff, and drank a fair share of excellent libations.
I'm particularly interested in taking a peak at Zenoss. I've done a fair amount with Nagios in the past and was fairly impressed. Last year I discovered Groundwork Open Source which was very impressive. I think it might be a bit limited by its proprietary leanings, but I haven't worked with it enough to know for sure. One area where I see Zenoss as standing out is in scalability. It definitely seems like it has been designed properly from the start, and if there is a nagios plugin translator or support structure it could definitely be a contender in environments I manage. At any rate I'm hoping to learn more about it from the outset and get some hands on time with it. Eventually I'd like to post about some of the work I'm doing in this area. I think it could be helpful to some...
Anyone have any experience or recommendations with these monitoring/capacity planning solutions?

Dangit, that sucks. Oct 1st is our companies fiscal year end, so I have to stay local (to Novi) and won't be able to attend. Again.
I really want to check out the Asterisk folks and see what progress they've made in the past few years. And I'm sure switchvox will be there.
Take lots of notes!
